How Our Telemedicine Service Works

Telehealth appointments are conducted using your phone or computer, connecting you, the patient, with our board-certified doctor. Telehealth is a popular alternative to seeing a doctor at a clinic because you do not have to wait for an appointment. You can schedule a visit within a short time.

For the visit, our telehealth physician will connect with you through a high-definition video, which will enable you two to see each other. You might be surprised to learn that your device's camera resolution is high enough for a doctor to get a clear look at your skin or throat.

DFW Internal Medicine Clinic - Telemedicine FAQs

  • What is telemedicine?

Telemedicine is an online medical service with a board-certified doctor who provides medical guidance and treatments. Our doctors can diagnose symptoms, offer medical advice, and prescribe medication for common ailments and infections.

  • How much does it cost?

The cost of a telemedicine visit can vary, but if your insurance doesn't cover it, you can expect to pay between $45 and $95 per visit.

  • Is telemedicine safe?

Yes. We take every measure possible to ensure your visit and information are secure and confidential. To provide the utmost safety, if an emergency or symptom outside the scope of telehealth is found, patients are immediately referred to an urgent care or emergency room.

  • How do I communicate with the doctor during my televisit appointment?

You will communicate with your doctor during a virtual appointment using video conference over your phone, tablet, or computer. You can also connect with your doctor over a phone call. Video conference is preferred.

  • What should I expect during my telemedicine visit?

You can expect a similar experience to an in-person appointment, including answering your doctor's questions and discussing your symptoms, medical history, and medications.

Diagnosis: Your doctor may diagnose you based on your discussion and share their recommendations for treatment.

Prescriptions: If needed, your doctor will send a prescription to your pharmacy.
